Continuing Education Course FAQ's
For Initial EMS Education questions, please check out the specific program pages (Paramedic/AEMT, EMT)
Individuals must register online for our courses. You may access our registration system online here.
You will need to create an account if you don't already have one.
VCUHS employees must register through the Learning Exchange on the Health System Intranet.
VCU/VCUHS Residents and Fellows who wish to register for a course at the CTCCE and will use GME or department funds should seek prior approval from their department.
Once registered you must make changes through our online system. The deadline for canceling all courses is two weeks prior to your course start date. If you sign up for a class and cannot make it please be sure to cancel your reservation online so the spot can be opened for others. We cannot take phone cancellations.
You will not receive a refund if you late cancel or do not show up for class. Your department will be charged the cost of the course if you do not follow proper cancellation procedures. Students who have multiple no-shows/late cancels may be removed from future class reservations.
We understand that emergencies happen so if you have a legitimate emergency that results in a late cancellation please e-mail us at ctcce@vcuhealth.org and let us know (after canceling yourself from the course online).
If the course requires a textbook/course manual, you must obtain a copy of the book and bring it with you to the course.
Course Manual Information:
- If a book/student manual was included in your registration or you purchased a physical copy of the text, it will be mailed to you TWO WEEKS prior to the start date of the course. If you wish to receive it earlier, contact us at ctcce@vcuhealth.org.
- Keys for eBooks will be emailed to the address provided upon registration.
- All DVDs, key codes, and manuals are final sale.
- ECC Handbooks are available for course participants for a fee upon registration check out.
Course Manual Information for VCUHS/VCU employees:
- If you purchased shipping, the text will be mailed to you. For employees who did pay for shipping, you will be notified when the book is available for pickup at our office.
- Keys for eBooks will be emailed to the address provided upon registration.
- Some departments have a library of textbooks that loan out to employees.
- Affiliated hospitals (i.e. Tappahannock), please see the nurse educator for a loaner textbook.
Loaners: CTCCE no longer offers loaner textbooks and course manuals. Please check with your individual unit/department to inquire about loaner texts.
Packets & Pre-test Information: Course packets and pre-test information is emailed upon registration. You will also receive automated reminders for the course.
If you did not receive the course information email upon registration, check your spam/clutter folder. Please contact us at ctcce@vcuhealth.org if you still are unable to locate the email. Invalid email addresses are the usual cause.
