This two-day course is intended for those who need to complete initial certification or have let their certification lapse past the recommended six-month renewal period. This course builds on the foundation of lifesaving BLS skills, emphasizing the importance of continuous, high-quality CPR. Focuses on the advanced life support management of patients with tachycardia or bradycardic dysrhythmias, cardiac arrest, acute stroke, acute STEMI, and post-cardiac arrest.
Prerequisites
Must be able to read and interpret EKG rhythm strips and have a working knowledge of medications commonly used in resuscitation.

Advanced Cardiac Life Support - Renewal
This one-day course is intended for those who need renewal or update competencies in Advanced Cardiac Life Support. This course builds on the foundation of lifesaving BLS skills, emphasizing the importance of continuous, high-quality CPR. Focuses on the advanced life support management of patients with tachycardia or bradycardic dysrhythmias, cardiac arrest, acute stroke, acute STEMI, and post-cardiac arrest.

Must be able to read and interpret EKG rhythm strips and have a working knowledge of medications commonly used in resuscitation. Must have a current ACLS Provider card.

Format
Traditional Renewal- a one-day course that completes all required content in a face-to-face delivery method.
Hybrid- this is a half-day course where students are required to view additional course content online prior to coming to class.
HeartCode ACLS Advanced Life Support
HeartCode ACLS is the AHA’s blended learning delivery method for the AHA’s ACLS Course. HeartCode blended learning delivers quality resuscitation education regardless of where providers are located and gives them more control to complete the course at their own pace. Providers first complete the online portion of HeartCode ACLS and then complete a hands-on skills session with an AHA ACLS Instructor or a HeartCode compatible manikin.

Students must complete the online portion of the course and bring the completion certificate to the scheduled skills session.
ACLS Advanced Life Support - Instructor
The ACLS Instructor Course is designed to prepare instructor candidates to teach AHA Instructor-led and blended learning ACLS Provider courses. It educates instructor candidates on how to use AHA Instructor teaching materials, ensure that students meet learning objectives, offers student coaching skills, provide an objective skills performance evaluation, and follows AHA Instructor and course policies.

Current ACLS certification
Instructor Potential as determined by Training Center Faculty
Healthcare license or certification where all content is within the scope of practice

Pre-course work and course requirements
Students must complete the ACLS Instructor Essentials Online before the in-person class session.
After the class, the student must be successfully monitored in teaching sections of an in-person ACLS course.
Instructor Requirements
To renew, instructors must teach a minimum of four ACLS courses in the two-year certification period.
