To date, we have taught over 5,000 people how to stop life-threatening hemorrhage. This is attributed to our VCU Trauma department and through community partnerships.

Participants have included teaches, school nurses, police, EMS, physicians, nurses, labors, and the general public.  We've brought these courses to community organizations, such as churches, synagogues hunt clubs, schools, warehouses, and military bases.

Highlights

In 2018 and 2019, faculty and staff from the CTCCE and VCU Trauma were selected to present STB at the Virginia EMS Symposium.

During the pandemic, CTCCE developed an hybrid version of the STB course in which participants would complete the didactic information online and meet for social-distant skill sessions.
