Biosketch
Anthony began his EMS career in 1976 as a junior charter member of the Ridgeway District Volunteer Rescue Squad. He completed the MCV Paramedic Program in 1984 and has been an EMS Educator for CTCCE since 1985. He is a volunteer Paramedic with Goochland County Department of Fire-Rescue and Emergency Services where he serves as an EMS Educator and a member of the Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement Committee. He is an RN, with experience in Interventional Cardiology, home health, care management, and as a nursing instructor.
Anthony has been an active member of the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians, serving as the Virginia PHTLS State Coordinator from 1989 until 2016 and as a member of the PreHospital Trauma Committee for the 9th and 10th editions of the PHTLS textbook and course materials.
Along with Jay Gould and Willard Hicks, Anthony co-founded the Virginia Association of Emergency Medical Services Practitioners (VAEMSP), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization to represent and support Virginia's EMS Practitioners. Anthony received the Old Dominion EMS Alliance regional EMS award for Excellence in EMS in 2016.
Anthony holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from UNC Chapel Hill, a Bachelor of Science in Health Occupations Education and a Master of Education from Virginia Commonwealth University.
