Faculty Biosketch

Garret directs the life support learning activities at the CTCCE as well as serving as one of the AHA Administrators. He is instrumental in the training of 1000's of physicians, nurses, and EMS providers each year as the course director for PALS and ACLS courses held at the CTCCE.  Garret is the site coordinator for UMBC's Critical Care Emergency Medical Transport Paramedic (TM) program, and manages the lab sessions for Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) courses.

For 5 years, Garret was a clinical instructor, supervising special forces medics for the Special Operations Combat Medic (SOCM) program, which offered immersive clinical experiences in trauma and burn management.

Garret is a long time paramedic/firefighter and continues to practice part time at Prince George County (VA) Fire Department.
